These toe socks have a two-layer structure, knitted with 100% silk on the inside, where they touch the skin, and 100% wool on the outside. The pile knit, made with a generous amount of silk yarn, feels gentle on the feet, while the high moisture absorbency of wool keeps your feet dry and comfortable. Worn as your first layer, they follow the idea of “Ashi no Hadagi” (underwear for the feet).

With no heel, they are one size fits most and can be rotated top to bottom and side to side, so you can enjoy them for a long time. Compared with our “Ashi no Hadagi” Silk & Cotton toe socks, they have more room in the toe area and a fuller, softer feel. Because wool absorbs and releases moisture better than cotton, they dry relatively quickly after washing, even though they have some thickness.

〈A Small size is now available〉
Born from customer feedback — “My feet are small, so the toes of the socks feel loose and my shoes feel tight” — this slightly smaller size is now offered in selected colors. If you usually wear shoes of 22.5 cm or smaller, or find that the plush Silk & Wool fabric leaves extra room at the toes, we hope you will give it a try. (The toe length and width have been adjusted, but the overall length is the same as the standard size.)

Our inner and outer layers are knitted with 100% natural fiber yarns. However, socks also need elastic thread to maintain a comfortable fit and stay in place. As elastic thread made entirely from natural materials is not currently available for sock production in Japan, we use synthetic elastic thread (listed as “under thread”). We carefully design our socks so that natural fibers are in contact with the skin as much as possible.

＊Enji is similar to Plum Red in the long-length version, but they are not exactly the same color.
＊Herb Leaf and Pale Blue are also available in Small and Kids' sizes. Charcoal is also available in Small.
＊Ecru is made with undyed yarn, which is slightly thicker than the yarn used for the other colors. As a result, the socks may feel a little thicker at first, but once worn, they offer the same comfortable feel as our other Silk & Wool toe socks. We recommend Ecru for those who prefer undyed, more natural materials or wish to avoid dyes.
