‘Ashi no Hadagi’ Tabi Socks Silk and Wool
We are excited to introduce Glück und Gute’s first-ever tabi socks: Tabi "Ashi no Hadagi" Silk & Wool. These socks feature a two-layer construction—wool on the outside and silk on the inside. Unlike our five-toe socks, the silk inner layer has a flat design, making the fabric slightly thinner. The silk & wool combination ensures year-round comfort, making them suitable for all seasons.
If you’ve ever felt that five-toe socks were uncomfortable, restrictive, or simply not for you, our two-toe tabi socks are a great alternative.
The Benefits of Tabi Socks
-
Naturally Centers Your Balance
Human feet have evolved for bipedal movement, and when standing, the natural center of balance is between the big toe and second toe. Tabi socks place fabric between these toes, encouraging a more aligned posture compared to standard round-toe or five-toe socks. -
Supports Foot Health
The placement of the fabric helps engage the muscles responsible for maintaining the forward arch between the base of the big toe and pinky toe. This strengthens the foot and may aid in preventing bunions (hallux valgus). -
Encourages Circulation & Warmth
While some may initially feel slight pressure between the toes, this area is home to an acupressure point called "Hachifū", known to promote blood circulation and warm the feet. Over time, with wear and washing, any discomfort should lessen.
