“Ashi no Nemaki Vent” was created from our winter staple, “Ashi no Nemaki,” with an open-toe design.

“Ashi no Nemaki” is made with a relaxed fit that gently wraps cold feet until you fall asleep, loose enough to slip off naturally under the covers. At the same time, we also heard from customers who often feel heat in their feet: “My feet are cold, but once I put socks on, they quickly become too warm.”

We wanted to create a version that would make it easier to regulate temperature around the toes. After nearly two years of trial and error—creating a simple opening at the toes turned out to be much more difficult than it sounds—we finally completed Vent.

And in the end, the finishing touch still comes from human hands.
Each opening is individually finished with a sewing machine.

The open-toe design makes it easier to adjust the temperature around the feet, and the socks can be worn with a feeling somewhere between a sock and a warmer. With the toes gently peeking out, Vent offers a different kind of comfort from the original “Ashi no Nemaki.”

Our inner and outer layers are knitted with 100% natural fiber yarns. However, socks also need elastic thread to maintain a comfortable fit and stay in place. As elastic thread made entirely from natural materials is not currently available for sock production in Japan, we use synthetic elastic thread (listed as “under thread”). We carefully design our socks so that natural fibers are in contact with the skin as much as possible.

〈Care〉
Machine washable in a laundry net. To help preserve the texture and quality of the fabric, we recommend using a gentle detergent without fluorescent brighteners or bleach.
