From quiet moments at home to time spent away on a journey,
Snug is a wool-felt room shoe designed to bring comfort and stability from the feet up.

The Snug series is currently available in four styles:

  • Snug80
  • Snug80 with Insole (New)
  • Snug90 for Travel (New)
  • Snug90 (while supplies last)

Glück und Gute’s Snug room shoes are handmade from felt made with wool and rayon, a regenerated fiber derived from natural materials and designed to return to the earth.

Thanks to wool’s natural insulating, heat-retaining, and moisture-managing properties, Snug feels comfortable even when worn barefoot. Wool also has natural self-cleaning properties, helping the shoes stay fresh. Warm in winter and pleasantly dry even on bare feet in summer, Snug can be enjoyed throughout the year and pairs especially well with Glück und Gute socks.

Snug90 and Snug80 differ mainly in wool content and fabric feel.
Snug90 is made with 90% wool and has a firmer felt approximately 3 mm thick. Snug80 is made with 80% wool and 20% regenerated fiber, creating a softer, fuller felt approximately 4 mm thick.

Going forward, the 90% wool version will be available mainly as the travel model.

〈Snug80 with Insole〉

We have created a new version of Snug80 combined with an insole from BMZ.
The foot contains a bone called the cuboid, which plays an important role in stability and balance. BMZ insoles are designed with a unique structure that supports the cuboid area and helps encourage a more stable foundation under the foot during everyday movements such as standing and walking.
Even while spending time at home, having a more stable base under the feet may help you become more aware of posture and whole-body balance.
This model originally grew out of my own physical discomfort.

At one point, I suddenly developed strong pain around my shoulder blade that did not easily go away. While thinking more seriously about how I was using and supporting my body, a bodywork practitioner pointed out the condition of my feet and suggested that I wear sports shoes indoors to support the cuboid area.

I do not normally wear sports shoes very often, and I felt even more reluctant to wear them inside the house. That was when I was introduced to BMZ’s foot-training insole.
I tried placing a pair inside my room shoes and noticed a different sense of stability under my feet and a change in how standing and everyday movement felt. However, simply inserting an existing insole into the room shoes did not feel quite right in terms of appearance or material compatibility.
That became the starting point for our prototypes. After repeated discussions with BMZ, we developed this model so that the insole sits naturally inside the room shoe.
It combines the comfort of natural materials with additional support under the foot.

You can choose the version with the insole as an option. I believe there may be many people who experience similar issues with their feet, and I hope this pair can help make everyday life a little more comfortable and enjoyable, starting from the feet.

〈Snug90 for Travel〉

Whenever I travel for work or leisure, I bring the thinnest and lightest version of Snug with me.
The travel version contains more wool than Snug80 and is made from a firmer felt, allowing it to lie flat and fit easily into small spaces in a suitcase. A pair in size M weighs approximately 130 g.
They are especially comfortable after a shower at a hotel, and even when worn barefoot, the wool helps keep the feet feeling dry rather than sticky.

I often use the disposable hotel slippers when returning from outside, then change into Snug90 after bathing. Somehow, that simple change brings back the relaxed feeling of being at home.
After returning from your trip, gently press-wash them, spin briefly, and leave them to dry. They will be ready to accompany you again on your next journey.
The travel version is designed with lightness and compactness as the priority and is intended to be worn without an insole.
They fit neatly inside our Original Cotton Bag, Size M, which is also convenient for carrying them while traveling.

〈Important Notes〉

Please do not wear Snug outdoors. The soles do not have non-slip grips, as these can sometimes catch against the floor and make walking less natural. The felt itself is relatively slip-resistant under body weight, but please take extra care when using Snug on stairs or smooth flooring.

〈Care〉

If the shoes become soiled, use a wool detergent or mild neutral detergent. Gently press-wash for a short time, spin lightly for approximately 2 minutes, reshape, and dry in the shade.

〈Left and Right〉
Versions without an insole can be worn on either foot and feature a 2-way fold-down heel.
The insole version does not have the same heel construction and is made with the insole fitted inside, so there is a distinct left and right. A Glück und Gute label is attached to the left shoe as a guide when putting them on.

The travel version can be worn on either foot.
