Among the “Ashi no Hadagi” Silk & Cotton series,
petta is the thinnest and lightest five-toe sock.
In fact, the long version of petta in both M and L sizes was created in response to our customers’ requests.

It began when a male customer who loves five-toe socks asked for a style that would not expose the shin when wearing a suit.
In response, we produced the L size in a long-hose length that covers up to the knee.
This reflects the classic etiquette of British gentlemen’s dress.
While in Japan many people do not pay much attention to this detail, I found it truly inspiring and elegant that he valued such sense of refinement.

Later, female customers also requested a thin long version, leading us to produce the M size with a calf-length design.
Thus, both versions of the petta long socks were born from these thoughtful requests.

True to its name, petta has an exceptionally thin, flat profile.
It is knitted with a double-layer structure: 100% silk on the inside and 100% cotton on the outside.
By placing the elastic thread on the outer layer, only silk touches the skin.
Unlike ordinary five-toe socks, which usually feature terry loops on the inside, petta is designed with a flat knit to maximize thinness.
