Tabi “Ashi no Hadagi” – Silk & Linen
A new summer version joins our Tabi sock series.
This is our first time using a double-layer construction with 100% linen on the outside and 100% silk on the inside. We were initially unsure if it could be knitted successfully, but the result is a breathable, smooth texture that feels wonderfully comfortable in warm weather.
The silk inner layer gently absorbs sweat and impurities, while the outer linen layer helps release that moisture quickly. Linen naturally contains pectin—a glue-like substance—that coats the surface of the fibres. This coating helps prevent dirt from penetrating deeply and makes it easier to wash out. Linen also dries quickly and is less prone to bacterial growth, making it a clean and ideal material for summer.

Although five-toe socks work well as the first layer in colder months, Tabi socks can shift slightly when layered due to the shape placing pressure between the big and second toes. That’s why we recommend wearing these on their own—perfect for spring and summer.
〈About the Wide Fit Type〉
Tabi socks have a heel-less, unisex design, but compared to five-toe socks, they have a slimmer fit.
Some people with larger feet—especially men—may find them a little tight.
That’s why we created a more spacious Wide Fit version for those who need it.
