Our Silk & Cotton Double-Layer Socks are made with silk on the inside, gently touching the skin, and cotton on the outside.

Each sock has a double-layer construction, with a silk sock nestled inside a cotton sock. Because two separate layers must be knitted to create each sock, even with machine knitting, it takes 18 minutes to knit one sock and 36 minutes to complete a pair. The toes are also carefully sewn, one by one, by skilled craftspeople.

The combination of two natural fibers, silk and cotton, brings together their moisture-absorbing, moisture-releasing, and insulating properties, helping to keep your feet comfortably dry.

The ankle area features a special knit designed to minimize tightness. To help prevent fingernails from snagging the delicate silk fabric when putting the socks on, the inner layer is made of cotton only for approximately 4 cm below the cuff, transitioning to fine silk below.

The balance of silk and cotton provides comfortable warmth without overheating, making these socks suitable for a wide range of seasons, from spring through autumn and winter.

The ankles are specially knitted so that they do not tighten. To prevent nails from catching the silk fabric, the top 4cm of the inside is made of cotton only, and from there it is switched to high-quality silk fabric. The combination of silk and cotton is neither too hot nor too cold, so you can wear them for a long time from spring to autumn and winter.

Our inner and outer layers are knitted with 100% natural fiber yarns. However, socks also need elastic thread to maintain a comfortable fit and stay in place. As elastic thread made entirely from natural materials is not currently available for sock production in Japan, we use synthetic elastic thread (listed as “under thread”). We carefully design our socks so that natural fibers are in contact with the skin as much as possible.

We recommend hand washing. If using a washing machine, please be sure to place the socks in a laundry net.

Because the socks consist of two layers of fabric, the inner silk layer may gradually shift toward the toe area after repeated washing. If this happens, simply turn the socks inside out and gently adjust the fabric to restore their original shape.
