“Ashi no Nemaki” | Food-Loss Dye Colors
“Ashi no Nemaki” is a winter staple from Glück und Gute.
This version features an inner layer of organic cotton dyed with colorants extracted from food-loss materials. As production of these colors has now ended, they are available only while supplies last.
Designed to be worn from after your bath until you fall asleep, “Ashi no Nemaki” gently wraps cold feet in warmth. The fit is intentionally relaxed—loose enough to slip off naturally under the covers while you sleep.
During rest, it is important to let your feet relax from the pressure of shoes and close-fitting socks. To give your toes plenty of room to move freely, the socks are made to the largest dimensions possible within our production specifications.
The inside is made with 100% organic cotton for a soft feel against the skin, while the outside is 100% high-quality New Zealand merino wool. With no elastic at the opening, they are designed to feel gentle and non-restrictive, making them especially comfortable during quiet, relaxing moments. Their soft, fluffy volume also makes them a lovely choice for long autumn and winter evenings, as well as for gifts.

Our inner and outer layers are knitted with 100% natural fiber yarns. However, socks also need elastic thread to maintain a comfortable fit and stay in place. As elastic thread made entirely from natural materials is not currently available for sock production in Japan, we use synthetic elastic thread (listed as “under thread”). We carefully design our socks so that natural fibers are in contact with the skin as much as possible.
〈Care〉
Machine washable in a laundry net. To help preserve the texture and quality of the fabric, we recommend using a gentle detergent without fluorescent brighteners or bleach.
