These Tabi socks are knitted in a two-layer construction, with 100% silk on the inside and 100% linen on the outside. Breathable, light, and dry to the touch, they are especially comfortable during warmer seasons.

From this version onward, we have improved the construction by moving the elastic yarn—the stretch yarn normally hidden within socks—toward the outer layer, allowing the silk to come into contact with the skin across the entire inner surface.

While our regular toe socks have a pile-knit interior, these Tabi socks use a flat-knit inner surface to keep them lightweight and thin. The silk gently absorbs moisture from the feet, while the linen outer layer helps release it quickly, keeping the feet feeling dry and comfortable. Linen also dries quickly and is naturally resistant to bacterial growth, making it especially well suited to summer wear.

Toe socks are also recommended as a first layer for layering, but we especially recommend wearing these Tabi socks on their own so you can fully enjoy the light and comfortable feel of silk and linen. They are an ideal shape for spring and summer.

〈About the Wide Fit〉

Our Tabi socks are heel-less and designed as a unisex style. However, because their silhouette is slimmer than our toe socks, people with larger or fuller feet may find the regular fit slightly snug.
For this reason, we also offer a Wide Fit, with extra room through the width.

〈Features of Tabi Socks〉

One of the distinctive features of Tabi socks is the separation between the big toe and the second toe, which allows the foot to move in a more natural way.This shape can help you become more aware of how you use your feet and distribute your weight while standing and walking. The toe section is gently knitted so that there is no excessive pressure between the big toe and second toe.

Compared with last year’s model, the length has been shortened by approximately 4 cm for a lighter feel in spring and summer. Worn slightly scrunched around the ankle, they pair easily with both trousers and skirts.

At first, the Tabi shape may feel a little unfamiliar, but with time, you may find that they begin to feel so natural that you almost forget you are wearing them.

〈Natural Materials, Even in the Parts You Cannot See〉

Along with moving the elastic yarn as much as possible toward the outer layer, we have introduced cotton-covered elastic yarn for Flax for the first time.
This is a small new step born from our wish to bring even the hidden parts of our socks closer to natural materials.

Our inner and outer layers are knitted with 100% natural fiber yarns. However, socks also need elastic thread to maintain a comfortable fit and stay in place. As elastic thread made entirely from natural materials is not currently available for sock production in Japan, we use synthetic elastic thread (listed as “under thread”). We carefully design our socks so that natural fibers are in contact with the skin as much as possible.
